Happy fall, y'all!

Happy fall, y'all!

In case you need a dose of cuteness for the day, here's an autumn-inspired pet pic we received from a viewer. This photo was uploaded to our website on Monday, Oct. 15 along with the caption "The cutest pumpkin dog ever!" It has quickly become one of our top-rated photos submitted to us on share.myfoxal.com.

This little guy is pretty adorable, popping out of a pumpkin, but he's not the only pooch we've seen photographed among the autumn decor. Check out yesterday's pet pic of Porter, who blends in with the scarecrows and bales of hale at his owner's home in Blountsville.

If you've got a great photo of your pet, the changing leaves in your yard, autumn decorations, or something else that sums up the fall season in your community, we'd love to see it and share it on our community sites.

Months before Halloween, large bags of sugary treats and chocolates are already piled high on supermarket and convenience store shelves. Most of us go with the program and load up on candy for trick-or-treaters. But is there an alternative we should consider?

You may toy with the idea of passing out non-sugary treats. But how will the kids at your door react? Will it make you the nerd of the neighborhood if you fill up your treat bowl with crayons or juice boxes?

Check out the eight Halloween treat ideas below. Many of these items can be found at party supply stores at a low cost or at "dollar" stores. You can also find them in bulk on Internet sites that cater to parties, holidays and special events.
